唐顿庄园 第二季 Downton Abbey Season 2 (2011)
ITV are thrilled to announce that Downton Abbey will be back for a second series in Autumn 2011 and a Christmas special will swiftly follow.
The lavish period drama has experienced huge critical and ratings success with fans glued to their televisions every Sunday night – so they’ll be relieved to know there will be eight brand new episodes coming to ITV1.
The seasonal special will continue the story from where series two ends.
ITV’s Director of Drama Commissioning, Laura Mackie says: “We’re delighted with the audience response to Downton Abbey and the positive critical reaction.
“We’re extremely proud to have commissioned a series which has clearly captivated ITV1 viewers. Consequently, we’re thrilled to be announcing the recommission of a new series for 2011 which will allow us to spend more time with the Crawley family and their servants.”
Carnival’s Managing Director Gareth Neame responded to the good news: “Downton Abbey has really captured the imagination of the public and has delighted regular drama viewers and newcomers alike.”
The Times and Independent have reacted to Downton Abbey in equally admirable terms with the Times commenting “the sets and costumes are ravishing, the attention to detail painstaking and the performances are brilliant. But above all, it’s a cracking story.”
